The premise of these lights is the LED's last so long (±50000hrs), when they eventually start to fade you replace the complete fitting. LED downlights can save you $100's per fitting over their lifetime compared to power hungry halogen downlights. The fixed head fittings can accomodate a larger heatsink than the downlight lamps & this has a direct correlation to the light outputs that can be achieved.
